Self-Managed VPS Servers

Control your own Ubuntu-based server while we manage the underlying infrastructure.

Self-managed VPS hosting built for modern deployment workflows

Designed to work with tools you already use

Our Self-Managed VPS servers start with a clean Ubuntu LTS install and basic hardening in place, so they are ready for your preferred deployment tools or your own stack setup. This same streamlined foundation is part of our broader green hosting approach, where efficiency and reduced infrastructure overhead play a key role in lowering environmental impact.

Whether you use tools like Ploi, Laravel Forge, ServerPilot, or something else, or you plan to build your stack manually, you are free to configure and deploy your environment however you like.

Global Deployment Options

Deploy your server where it makes the most sense. We operate in 5+ regions and 10+ data centers across North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region. Choose a location close to your users, your team, or your primary workloads to keep latency low and performance consistent.

If you need a location we do not list yet, feel free to ask. As the Gen5 platform expands, we regularly add new regions and facilities.

Deploy Your Server Your Way

You have full root access, full apt package management, and the freedom to build the stack you want. Use a deployment service (Ploi, Laravel Forge, ServerPilot), automate with scripts, or configure everything by hand.

The goal is simple: a clean Ubuntu LTS baseline that stays out of your way while you control the server-level decisions.

Backups Included

All VPS plans include five encrypted, off-server and off-site full-system backups at no additional cost. Think of these as full-disk restore points for your VPS: great for rolling back or recovering the entire server to a point in time. They do not support restoring a single file or database by themselves.

Backups run automatically each week. You can change the schedule, run on-demand backups, or mark specific restore points as protected. Additional restore points and protected retention are available if needed.

Predictable Performance

Powered by high clock-speed AMD EPYC CPUs and enterprise NVMe Gen 4 storage, our VPS platform is built for consistent compute and disk behavior. The emphasis is on predictable performance: stable resources you can plan around, not “best case” benchmarks.

Easy Scaling

Need more CPU or RAM? Scale up (or down) at any time with a click. Disk size cannot be reduced once increased due to KVM virtualization limits, so we use fixed drives to keep scaling clean and predictable while CPU and memory scale independently.

Self-Managed VPS

Need a more advanced VPS setup?

If your project requires multiple VPS servers, you can deploy additional Self-Managed VPS instances and connect them using private networking. Our team can help enable private backend networks between servers, giving you a clean foundation for more advanced deployments.

IPv4 and IPv6 Support

Every VPS includes one dedicated IPv4 address and one dedicated IPv6 address at no additional cost. This allows you to run modern, dual-stack network configurations and ensures compatibility with both legacy and IPv6-enabled clients.

Will My Deployment Tool Work?

Most likely, yes. Our Self-Managed VPS servers are provisioned with a hardened Ubuntu LTS installation that includes standard operating system, network, and SSH hardening best practices.

We actively test and validate deployments with popular server and stack management platforms such as Ploi, Laravel Forge, and ServerPilot, and have confirmed full compatibility. Many customers also successfully use other deployment and automation tools. If the platform supports Ubuntu LTS, it should work without issue.

By default, VPS instances are deployed with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. After ordering, you may redeploy your server at any time using either Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. This provides flexibility for your application and tooling requirements.

"A @CraftCMS site we built was recently at the top of Techmeme, TechCrunch, Hacker News, Reddit, and more, and we didn’t see any server issues or impact. Great job by the @happycog dev team, and thanks @ArcustechUSA! #craftcms"

"Moved a client site from Rackspace to @ArcustechUSA. Client says, “All I know is that our website is poppin’ now!”"
