As developer tooling and deployment workflows have matured, our offerings have expanded. This page highlights the milestones that shaped how we operate today.

Founded in October 2013

Arcustech was founded in October 2013, continuing the legacy of our original company, Gippy’s Internet Solutions / EngineHosting, which began in 1998. That deep history and core vision still guide us today.

Early Years: Managed VPS from the Start

From the outset, Arcustech focused on managed VPS hosting. The goal was simple: provide a stable server environment where developers and site owners could focus on their applications, while our team handled the operating system, security updates, and core server maintenance.

This model worked well for agencies and developers building sites for clients, and for organizations that needed dependable infrastructure without becoming full-time system administrators.

Growing Alongside Modern CMS Platforms

As content management systems and PHP frameworks evolved, Arcustech’s platform grew with them. Real-world production use shaped how servers were configured, maintained, and supported, especially for CMS-driven sites with database-heavy workloads, background jobs, and media processing.

Over time, this led to deeper alignment with platforms like Craft CMS, where operational consistency and careful updates matter.

Refining the Managed Model

As Arcustech matured, so did our managed VPS offerings. Processes around updates, monitoring, backups, and change management were refined to reduce risk and downtime in production environments.

Throughout this period, one principle remained constant: server management and application ownership are distinct responsibilities. Arcustech manages the server environment; customers retain full control over their code, content, and applications.

Expanding to Self-Managed VPS for Modern Workflows

More recently, Arcustech expanded to include self-managed VPS servers for developers who prefer to manage their own operating system and stack.

These offerings are intentionally focused. Rather than supporting dozens of operating systems or custom ISO uploads, self-managed VPS servers are based on Ubuntu LTS and are a strong fit for modern deployment tools such as Ploi, Laravel Forge, ServerPilot, and similar platforms.

This expansion reflects how many teams deploy today, while still maintaining the same underlying platform standards.

Gen5 Platform and Present Day

Today, Arcustech operates its Gen5 VPS platform across multiple global regions, continuing to refine infrastructure with an emphasis on predictability, documentation, and long-term support.
